The 33-year-old British sailor participating in the 30,000 nautical mil long solo regatta, spread over five stages. Stanmore-Major is almost side by side with candi shoulder Derek Hatfield and Zbigniew 'Gutek' Gutkowski about 1000 east of Newfoundland. His boat, "Spartan" made around 18 knots in the fresh air when he returned below deck for a sail change, to find that the water was high in the boat. -My immediate thought was the boat had hit something that had knocked a hole in the hull, said Stanmore-Major to the VELUX 5 OCEANS security tupolev team. - I sldri seen so much water inside a boat before.
