There will be a round trip by bus to some of the companies and municipalities where the newest technology in energy efficiency are developed and used - STRI, ABB, Smedjebackens municipality and VB Energy. air mech At STRI, the consulting firm that owns an accredited high voltage laboratory and the largest Smart Grid Lab, will be the display of the spectacular high-voltage lab. At STRI's research project is also Smart Grid Energy Storage housed, four graduate students doing research in energy storage from wind and sun. The research project is funded by Vinnova, ABB, STRI, VB Mains, Uppsala University and Samarkand2015, the regional development company for Ludvika and Smedjebackens municipalities. Energy storage project has been underway since 2009 and is now the final phase. It consists of three sub 1. Increase the limit for acceptance of new energy sources and loads by means of storage and communication. 2nd ICT structure (Information and Communication Technology) for the Smart Grid. 3rd Large-scale energy storage with lithium batteries.
