The government of New Taipei City plans to build a museum of arts worldwide in its Yingge district. In a call for proposal through an international fres competition of conceptual design, creative and visionary schemes are intended to give to this museum exhibition fres space with a fresh and versatile character. The proposed architecture office DCPP architects for the "New Taipei City Museum of Art" is an open and inclusive design that seeks to erase the barrier of exclusivity that generally exists in the art world, employers and experts. Thus, the architecture of the museum seeks the elimination of traditional boundaries between exhibition space and circulation as well as indoor and outdoor. Each part of the museum is represented by a boundless space that can contain any type of expression. Each space is part of a large body connected which expands and extends along the site, acting as a filter and as a transition fres space between the public and art. A forest of columns extending in surveying both the exterior and interior spaces and acts as the device fres that delineates the space is created. Each part of the program has a specific, uniform fres distance between columns. This creates a unique atmosphere through the museum where spaces are only broadly defined. The first three levels fres of the museum are in the forest of columns surrounding the building. As the visitor moves to the upper two levels which contain the main galleries, this forest of columns begins to disappear. Upon arrival, visitors can enjoy a space that floats above all the rest. These main galleries are defined primarily by flexibility. Here, the grid of columns is the most open, giving the curators of the museum fres ample space for designing displays and sequences that can respond to any need. It is this level of flexibility and openness which will make the "New Taipei City Museum of Art" is a unique public forum for art, learning and culture.
